Every applicant must submit:
1. A plan to positively impact areas of disproportionate impact as defined by the Commission; and
2. A diversity plan
The legislation states the Cannabis Control Commission must adopt procedures and policies to promote and encourage full participation in the regulated cannabis industry by individuals from communities disproportionately harmed by marijuana prohibition and enforcement and to positively impact those communities. Specifically, chapter 55 of the acts of 2017 requires the Commission to “provide meaningful participation of communities disproportionately affected by cannabis prohibition and enforcement, including minority business enterprises, women business enterprises, and veteran business enterprises.”
As 2019 rolls out, The Commission is enforcing these segments of the law and application. The social equity program begins soon and as a social equity vendor, MRCC want’s to ensure applicants and consumers understand the regulations.
