After meeting in the Colorado marijuana industry, Kevin MacConnell & Tim Phillips set out to start an Uxbridge cannabis company, creating custom marijuana products for dispensaries.

For more than two years, they fought against the tough Massachusetts regulatory structure in order to get a cannabis business license, all while their expenses piled up. In July, the duo finally got their license and then hit the ground running in getting their products on the market.

The business partners behind Blackstone Valley Naturals, doing business as Yamna, join the WBJ Podcast to discuss their long journey and offer advice for other would-be entrepreneurs and what cannabis regulators can do to make life easier on small businesses.
