1. Massachusetts National Day of Expungement

SATURDAY October 27, 2018 @ 6:00PM - 9:00PM

District Hall
75 Northern Ave
Boston, MA 02210

Cost: FREE

Have we forgotten about equity? Massachusetts voters were promised that those most impacted by the war on drugs would be able to participate in the cannabis industry, through Chapter 94G Section 4a4. Today we are closer to achieving that goal: Last year, a coalition of Massachusetts youth & social justice organizations successfully lobbied for expungement to be included in the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Reform Bill, which allows someone to clear their criminal record. Who is eligible? Come find out.

On October 27th, 2018 from 6-9pm at District Hall, MRCC will host Massachusetts' first National Day of Expungement. The event is part of a national movement: National Week of Expungement.

This event is FREE and open to the public and will include a presentation detailing eligibility requirements for the new Expungement law in Massachusetts, Q&A with Suffolk County District Attorney candidate(s), employment resources, networking, and voter registration.

This event is in partnership with the Equity First Alliance, a national coalition social justice organization working to bring awareness to Expungement programs that exist in our states. This project is called the National Expungement Week (N.E.W) where each organization will have a national Day of Expungement in their state between the week of 10/20-10/27.
