These events often provide opportunities to expand your network, access to educational seminars, workshops, recreational gatherings, and festivals in Massachusetts. Cannabis Control Commission Public Listening Sessions:

The Cannabis Control Commission is taking public input on how we should regulate legal marijuana in Massachusetts. Check the locations to see if you’re available to attend. Please spread the word far and wide. These listening sessions are coming up quickly. It’s an aggressive timeline due to the aggressive regulatory deadlines that we were given.

To those who want a say in what should be included in the legal marijuana law, SHOW UP. This is your chance to SPEAK be HEARD! Hearings are taking place all over the state, they are accepting written comments. Check out the dates, times, and locations below:

2017 Marijuana Legalization: Let’s Talk About Youth Prevention

Recreational marijuana is the law of the land in Massachusetts. However, the law still prohibits persons under 21 from using marijuana for recreational purposes. Community leaders across Boston will come together at this event to learn about the new marijuana legislation and approaches to prevent youth marijuana use. The event will increase perception of harm around youth marijuana use, shift community norms related to marijuana use and decrease access/availability of marijuana to youth. The event is a part of the Focus on Prevention series brought to you by the Boston Substance Abuse Prevention Collaborative.

Marijuana was just legalized for adult-use in Massachusetts. However, there is still much public uncertainty as to what is and what is not legal. Last semester, SSDP at UMass Boston campaigned for the Yes On 4 initiative to legalize adult-use marijuana. This semester they’re focused on educating their campus on compliance with our new marijuana policies.

Join us for an informative event detailing the changes in our marijuana laws, education about safe and responsible marijuana consumption, and how you can get involved with marijuana policy in your locality. Hosted by Students for Sensible Drug Policy and the Massachusetts Recreational Consumer Council.
