Cambridgeside Pl, Cambridge, MA 02141
Cost for Runners: $45

The Cambridge 5k Freedom Run, is a race through East Cambridge hosted by the Cambridge Business Association and sponsored by several local brewing companies. This is the second year MRCC has consecutively organized a team of local cannabis businesses and consumers to participate in the Cambridge 5k Freedom Run. While they run for “Freedom and Local Beer,” we run for “Freedom and Local Weed.”
The focus of the run is to break the “lazy stoner” stigma and create an inclusive ecosystem of small and large cannabis companies in Massachusetts. As the 2nd largest team in this years race, team @MAconsumers is made up of over 70 runners including, local consumers, local marijuana business owners, and even former Patriots Superbowl Champion, Eric Martin.
Sponsored by local Massachusetts-based marijuana companies, the funds raised will go towards community educational events, maintaining transparency in regards to regulatory changes at the state level, lobbying on behalf of recreational consumers, and providing communities with educational material on responsible marijuana consumption.
Join the cannabis community in making history by representing active cannabis consumers at this years Cambridge 5k. We’ll see you at the finish line!
Note: This is a non-consumption event.

With Massachusetts’ new era of legalization only weeks away, its full economic impact has gone largely unexplored and unappreciated. Thousands of new jobs will be created. Soon, tourists will flock in from all over the world. Meanwhile, hundreds of new businesses are in the process of formation, and they are creating the need for a wide range of services, from construction and security to trucking and accounting. Is Massachusetts ready for the onslaught of economic activity, and is the scope of the new industry fully understood?
A new trade group — the Massachusetts Cannabis Business Association (MassCBA) — has been formed to provide focus on education, best practices and broader appreciation for the emerging industry. Join the State House News Forum — the events division of the State House News Service — and co-host MassCBA to hear industry leaders who will explore the widespread business potential of the Massachusetts cannabis economy.
