Hope to see you soon for Marijuana Expungement!

The Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy will be holding an executive session tomorrow during the listening tour.

Remember this “joint” committee was responsible last year for making major changes to the law around taxes and municipal control. It’s interesting to note that these committee members will be going over some very important bills this week without barely making a peep to the general public.

Three different bills (Bill S.1063, Bill S.1075 & Bill H.2785.) around marijuana expungement will be addressed. Contact members of the Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy and tell them to support these bills during their executive session. As we move forward with legalization we cannot forget the harms prohibition has caused.

According to the ACLU, black Americans are 3.7 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than whites, although both groups use the drug at roughly the same rate here in Massachusetts. As we are in Black History month, we must not forget how the war on drugs has ravages people of color and low-income communities alike.

Regulations will be finalized in March, the last public hearings is THIS WEEK! Stay updated
