Sunday June 4, 2017 9:00am – 1:00pm
CambridgeSide
100 Cambridgeside Place
Cambridge, MA 02141

1. We are calling on all active cannabis users, join us! MRCC is assembling a coalition of active cannabis consumers and locally operated small businesses to further a higher standard of cannabis products in the regulated market.

The Cambridge 5k Freedom Run is a race through East Cambridge hosted by the Cambridge Business Association, sponsored by several local brewing companies. They run for “Freedom and Local Beer.”

The Massachusetts Recreational Consumer Council, MRCC, will participate in this years Cambridge 5k Freedom Run, representing legal cannabis consumers in our state. We run for “Freedom and Local Weed” to remove the “lazy stoner” stigma and promote home grown, local canna-businesses, and education.

MRCC recognizes the societal benefits provided by access to safe, high quality marijuana products, education, and the need for an equitable market where medium and small sized businesses can thrive. We pledge to continue to address legislators at the state and local level to ensure that these public standards are upheld.

Help us create this change, run on our team.

2.The legislature is now drafting changes to Chapter 334, the law which legalized cannabis. The new law WILL be changed. Join us at the State House to show representatives that the voters are watching.

We want Massachusetts farmers to be able to grow the new billion dollar crop ( Bill H.3195). We want expanded protections for children (Bill H.3195). We want employers to treat people who use cannabis the same as people who use alcohol (Bill H.3195). We want expungement of records for people convicted of the now legal act of possession of cannabis (Bill S.1062). We want patients’ rights protected (Bill H. 2385). And we want local licenses issued to local businesses and minority business owners (Bill H.3505).

Join us for the Press Conference at 11am. Then join us at the rally at the State House on June 7th. We will be visiting our representatives. Let them know you care about this issue. Please do turn out, this may be our last opportunity to influence the bill we will be living under.
